Do you believe?

Finally, I can take a break and relax and enjoy the holidays. I have shopped, baked, partied, shopped, baked, partied to within an inch of my life. Time to slow down and enjoy the season, the lights, the minimal traffic, my son's winter break, my kids are home from school. Everybody at work has been plied with cocoa, candy, cookies...we're all getting fat...well at least I feel fat and happy. Tomorrow I get off at noon and won't go back until Monday.

The little guy is doing the Santa countdown. Everyday he tells me how many more days it is until Santa comes.

I love that he still believes.

He loves to wrap presents and will probably end up saving me sleepless nights trying to get it all packaged up in time. I am in charge of the desserts this year for our family feast. A very big thing since my sister was the champion dessert chef and always had the most scrumptious delights for us at our feasts. I will be looking for her inspiration to help me do it justice.

I am getting a new boss (again) at the first of the year. Geez, I just get 'em broken in and then they're gone and I have to start all over again with a new one! Well, this is my 6th one in the last 5 years. At least I'm hanging in there. Why is a whole 'nother story. I will be looking around though. Too many things are not feeling right so I have been checking out the alternatives. Most of the staff are great and just trying to do a good job and get noticed for it. I try to make sure we acknowledge their efforts and encourage them in their goals. So far, our section is showing some good trends in retention and management. Let's see if we get kudos or coal for our efforts.
