You give me fevah!
Such hot and humid days we're having. I am doing my best to get my weekend chores done so I can relax...too hot! The pool's full of... what are they?...as kids we used to call them polliwogs...or are they mosquito bebes? Gotta look out for that west nile virus they keep talking up. We're going to have to empty it and water the plants with it. It's just an inflatable to cool off in the heat of summer. (I sneak in and float around on my raft when it gets unbearable). We spent 2 days in Vegas last week and I ended up sick soon after we arrived. For practically the entire time, fever, chills, the usual indignities! The only thing that salvaged our trip was we extended it by one day and proceeded to cram in as many things as possible. I was better but you know how it is--a little off after being ill. Eyeing every prospective entree to determine if it would pass muster in my stomach. Nothing like being sick to make you savor your health. And long for it.
My man was such a sweetheart the whole time. I don't think I would have been nearly as understanding if it had been me.(The pic above is of the ceiling in the lobby of the Bellagio). We went to see the Monet exhibit at the Bellagio...wow! what a talent! The colors...the exquisite skill of putting light on canvas...I am awed by painters' ability to mix just the right colors to capture the look and feel of a visual moment. We rode the monorail the length of the strip and worked our way back. We happened upon the margarita bar at MGM Grand and had a huge, frozen margarita to carry about and sucked it down happily, very tasty...even on my tummy! We went to Mandalay Bay to see the Venetian Art Glass at one of their shops...what a disappointment! They only had a few pieces...the best part was an informational video they had playing on a plasma screen that showed how they do glassblowing. Maybe it was late in the exhibit and all the good pieces were sold... who knows? We did have a scrumptious lunch at their cafe, though.
I went dutifully back to work. Sigh! Still fighting the good fight! Hope springs eternal! If I can just get through without losing any more of my sanity. Actually the lunatics are running the asylum. Maybe that's what I'm doing wrong? No, I refuse to give in to negative mindset. Must stay positive. Must try to make things better. Must try. I hope you're trying.

You were the first to comment on my blog so I thought I'd return the favor. :o) Thank you so much for your encouraging words. I've been thinking about getting started again and was playing with the format today which may be how you found me?
I haven't been to Vegas since I was too young to gamble. Sorry you had to be sick through most of your visit. Sounds like you made the most of it, though.
Keep up the writing!
